These are the most disruptive and innovative companies on Earth. The playbook gives businesses of any size the 4 Climate Pillar strategy to create value while crushing their emissions…and emissions they influence. Join us for the launch of the upgraded 1.5 Business Playbook v.2.0. It makes changing the world even easier.

Reinventing supply chains to halve emissions by 2030

11:30 - 1:00 EST, Tuesday September 20

For many companies, most emissions are locked in their supply chains. These emissions are difficult to reach and even more difficult to control. What are the solutions to incentivise suppliers to cut emissions? How do we make it as easy as possible for companies to engage with their suppliers? How can we reduce friction to action? This event will present open source tools and key strategies such as the shift towards 100% renewable energy through disruptive innovation.

Fireside chat with EPA's Associate Administrator & Google

2:00 - 3:00 EST, Wednesday, September 21

We’re in a moment of immense opportunity for environmental justice, seeing historic investments like the Biden Administration's Justice40 initiative. But there’s still so much more work to be done to help frontline communities that have been historically underserved and disproportionately impacted. Join us for a panel discussion with extraordinary leaders of the environmental justice movement: EPA Associate Administrator Rosemary Enobakhare, Dr. Robert Bullard, Dr. Beverly Wright, and Peggy Shepard. Moderated by Kate Brandt, Google's Chief Sustainability Officer.

Scaling Exponential Climate Policy: from Laggards to Disruptors for System Change

4:00 - 5:00 EST, Wednesday, September 21

Conventional wisdom in the climate action and advocacy space too often sees innovation and the deployment of green technology as a given, taken care of by the private sector, whereas the catalyzation and protection of such solutions to the climate crisis need a much sharper, systematic and visionary policy approach. This session will draw on initial pioneering work done in collaboration between the Climate Governance Commission and the Exponential Roadmap Initiative on the concept of "Exponential Policy" — that is, policies tailored across the climate solution life-cycle to trigger cascading system changes, addressing key areas of economic and social transformation.

Covering The Solutions - Press Panel

6:00 - 7:00 EST, Wednesday, September 21

Over 60% of people worldwide see ‘much more’ coverage of climate problems rather than solutions. We’ve got to flip that script and make our solutions media-worthy. Our panel of journalists will explore what makes a great story, share the worst press releases they’ve received and help plot climate coverage that’s solutions-orientated. Join us to learn the tricks of the trade.

Are Tipping Points Always Bad?

7:30AM - 8:15AM EST, Thursday, September 22

New research has warned the world might be passing 5 dangerous tipping points, including the collapse of the Greenland and West Antarctic Ice Sheets, tropical coral reef die off, and the abrupt thawing of Northern permafrost. But…points can tip both ways. Solutions House is delighted to host leading voices from the recent conference Tipping Points – From Climate Crisis to Positive Transformation. Hot off the press from that event, leaders from the Earth4All initiative will share 5 ‘positive tipping points’ – the extraordinary turnarounds the world needs right now, and how to deliver them. This is a radical blueprint for change and Solutions House will be the first to hear this new agenda. Come and be tipped towards the answers.
Breakfast will be provided.

The Secret Power Of Lifestyle Emissions

9:00 - 10:30 EST, Thursday, September 22

This year, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) put people power into the plan to meet the Paris Agreement. They calculate that 'behavior and socio-cultural' changes could rapidly save 5% of all demand-side carbon emissions. The potential is huge, but how do we get there? Join behavioral scientists and pioneering businesses to discover products and persuasion which could change our lives (and the climate) for good.

Storytelling The Solutions

4:30 - 5:45 EST, Thursday, September 22

How can we put solutions in the story? Writers, producers, actors and showrunners spin up magic out of thin air. They make us laugh. They make us cry. They terrify us. But most of all they make us care about the worlds they create. Now these brilliant storytellers are turning their creative superpowers towards climate solutions and future worlds we want to live in. Solutions House will host a unique session with very special guests who can weave the stories that change the world.
